Ukraine Increases Oilseed Exports by 55%

Since the beginning of 2017/18 MY, Ukraine has exported 2.8 million tons of oilseeds, which is 1 million tons (55%) more than for the same period in 2016 (1.8 million tons).

This data has been provided by the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

The largest part of the volume of exported oilseeds is rape (more than 1.8 million tons). When compared to last year’s figures, the growth of exports of these seeds exceeds 1 million tons (last year, on the same date, almost 0.8 million tons of rape had been exported).

The structure of exports also includes soybeans, the level of export of which from Ukraine to other countries in the current marketing year amounted to 0.93 million tons, which is practically at the level of the last year (2016: 1 million tons).

According to the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, grain exports amounted to 17.76 million tons as of November 30, namely: 10 million tons of wheat (including more than 5.6 million tons of food-grade wheat and 4.5 million tons of forage wheat), 3.6 million tons of barley, and 3.5 million tons of corn.

In the same period of the last marketing year, 18.8 million tons of grain were exported, including 10 million tons of wheat (including more than 5.5 million tons of food-grade wheat and 4.6 million tons of forage wheat), 4 million tons of barley, and 4.38 million tons of corn).
