Sunflower Seed Sowing Campaign Started in Ukraine

As of April 1, 2019, a sunflower seed sowing campaign started in 6 regions of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

Sunflower was sown on an area of 54 thousand hectares or 1% of the forecast.

Ukraine also continues sowing early spring crops, which is executed on an area of 1.4 million hectares (61% of the forecast).

In particular, it was sown:

• barley – 984 thousand hectares (63% of the forecast);
• wheat – 102 thousand hectares (59%);
• oats – 89 thousand hectares (46%);
• peas – 217 thousand hectares (62%).
