Ukrainian News. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food estimates the condition of 4.9 mln. ha (or 72% of winter crops) of those that sprouted as good and satisfactory.
This was announced by the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Oleksiy Pavlenko on his Facebook page according to Ukrainian News.
The data are provided as of March 17, 2016.
It is reported that the sprouts of winter crops appeared in the area of 6.8 mln. ha (96% of the sown area), of which 4.9 mln. ha or 72% are in good and satisfactory condition, 1,9 mln. ha or 28% are weak, and 4.5 thous. ha have died.
In addition, sprouts of winter rapeseed that were sown in the area of 655.3 thous. ha appeared in the area 590,0 thous. Ha (90% of the sown area), of which 396,3 thous. ha (67%) are in good and satisfactory condition, 168 thous. ha (29%) are weak, and 25,6 thous. ha or 4% have perished.
As Ukrainian News reported, farmers have planted 7,1 mln. ha of winter crops for the harvest season of 2016
